Country Show Chic! This is a real style trend, whether you choose to don a breton stripe (think Duchess of Cambridge) a floral design (think Vogue Matthews) , a tweed (think Zara Phillips) or a more fashion-forward scandi inspired look (think Alyson Walsh), the key to dressing well to such an event is knowing how to layer your outfit whatever the weather. Whilst we are set to bask in glorious sunshine this summer, we should always be prepared for the “just in case” and of course the cooler summer evenings.
I was delighted to have been asked to write a piece for Limited Edition Magazine as Countryfile LIVE was being hosted at Blenheim Palace. Whilst there is no dress code for day visitors to Countryfile Live, you need to think practically for the day ahead of you.
These are my top tips;
Ditch any notion of heels;
As you wander the resplendent grounds and gardens, flats will be your friend. You could opt for posh pumps, loafers, or the resurgent Birkenstock (and of course, pack your wellies in the boot of the car!)
Hats off;
Sun shining? Go with a fedora or wide-brimmed hat. Wind or rain? Choose a stylish cap to keep your hair off your face.
Layer Up;
Floaty florals look elegant with a lace camisole worn underneath paired with a pastel cashmere over the shoulder. A denim jacket completes this look perfectly.
Structured culottes or denim complemented by a breton/floral top look perfection when finished with an off white linen style blazer.
Last but not least;
Pack your oversized shades, the perfect style accessory come rain or shine for your Country Show Chic look! (oh, and a large pashmina style scarf in a bright or monochrome will be your best friend in all weathers!)
Be Forever You, Always,
Victoria
